Rapid Microbial Analysis of Dental Unit Water
Chairside water monitoring results in 2 minutes.
Rapid Surface Hygiene Monitoring
Cleanliness of surfaces determined in seconds
Welcome to Xand Innovations
Waterline maintenance and infection control is an important part of healthcare facilities daily regime. Up until recent years this process was lengthy, expensive and inconclusive. The delay in obtaining results could be up to 2 weeks which results in, exposing patients to potential harm.
We recognized there was a distinct lack of effective processes or systems available to assist in monitoring dental unit water or cleanliness of surfaces. This led to Xand working with global manufacturers to develop the innovative processes.
Our vision was to find a monitoring system that is rapid, reliable, easy to use and economical technology.
The solution to the problem is our chairside 2 Min Water Control. With our system you will be able to determine water quality in as little as 2 minutes, which means any necessary action required can be accomplished immediately.
In addition, we have a rapid hygiene monitoring system to determine cleanliness of surfaces for the purposes of self auditing.
New Product
Easy Plate – Film Media For Microorganism Testing
Easy Plate is a convenient, prepared media plate with no need for media preparation or sterilization. Easy Plate is an easy to use alternative to in-house media preparation using traditional plated media that saves time, labor and reduces waste. Using an Easy Plate takes about 1/20 volume of the traditional petri dish – saves space and allows you to run more tests with your current incubator space. Easy Plates come ready-to-use and immediately after opening the package you can place a sample suspension onto the media and start incubation.
2 min Water control
Introducing a new practical system to accurately and easily test microbial quality of dental unit water lines.
The 2 Min Water Control system rapidly and accurately determines the presence of biofilm in dental unit water lines to enable monitoring and action as required. Results from samples are achieved in just two minutes, eliminating lengthy incubation periods or the need to send sample to a laboratory.
A water sample is taken from the dental unit waterlines, put through a bacteria filter, then a few drops of reagent are added and the sample placed into a luminometer to obtain a reading.
The readings are entered into an App or excel spreadsheet to determine the colony forming units (CFU's).
The ADA advises that it is good practice to test water lines on a regular basis with a target of no more than 200 CFU/ml, however many practices often set their own levels such as 100 CFU/ml (as per Japan or Germany) as a trigger point for action.
Lumitester smart
The Lumitester Smart is a portable luminometer for ATP-metry, which measures the presence of Adenosine Triphospate (ATP) by reading the number of photons emitted by the luminescence reaction and displays the results in relative light units (RLU). ATP is present in all living organisms, providing early waring of biofilm build up in small concentrations.
This technology is widely used in the food industry and medical setting to test for surface hygiene.
When used with 2 Min Water Control reagent kit and specially designed software, ATP is converted into CFU's to determine the bacterial load of a sample.
This luminometer was first developed for use with LuciPac A3 to provide easy inspection of cleanliness of surfaces and hands.
In April 2021 Lumitester Smart won over a 98 member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its revolutionary detection system that combines state-of-the-art detection with inviting design and accessible functionality.
There were 10,000 entries from 52 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality from iF Design Awards.
Lucipac a3 Surface
Now more than ever, it is crucial to verify the effectiveness of your cleaning and disinfecting processes. That means that detection is an even more critical component to healthcare.
Officials around the world are emphasizing the need for enhanced disinfection to control the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 virus on surfaces. It is important to know that your heightened processes are being effective and, while Kikkoman A3 Technology (ATP+ ADP+AMP) does not directly detect the SARS-CoV-2 virus (very few technologies can), independent testing has shown that A3 Technology represents a novel ATP test that can detect residues left behind by ineffective cleaning at lower levels than other tests on the market. This makes it an effective means to demonstrate and improve sanitation and disinfection processes.
LuciPac is an all-in-one contained swab test tube that is easy to use along with Lumitester Smart. Readings are obtained in 10 seconds and displayed in RLU's.
